7. Proposal for Solar Farm

A 100-hectare site is being considered for a solar farm, south of the B1062 near the villages of Barsham, Shipmeadow and Ilketshall St Andrew. One concern is that agricultural land would be lost however, this could be the way forward in reducing the use of fossil fuels which may be of benefit in terms of energy to the local community.

8. Traffic Increase B1062

An email had been received from a local man living in the Saints, commenting on the increase of traffic on the B1062. This situation is out of our control however, the reduction in the speed limit to 50mph has been put in place in recent years. The clerk will reply to the email.

9. Warmth Packs (East Suffolk Council Community Partnership)

This is an initiative providing a warmth pack to those in need due to the rise in the cost of living. Although individuals cannot apply themselves, community groups can make a referral.

Warmth packs that don’t require a referral are available in Bungay at the Waveney Valley Leisure Centre, Bungay Library and the Community Hub opposite the Buttercross. The packs include a fleece bodywarmer, a fleece blanket, a thermos mug, socks, gloves, a hat, a snood and a hot water bottle.
